First I did the “classic” technique to put some distress ink over the craft sheet, add some water and then put the paper over it and let the color sink into the paper. Took it off, dried the paper, and repeated again till I achieved a background I liked. Then I run it through the cutting machine. When I had all my feathers cut, I took a waterbrush and started adding more color to them.
I worked again on steps and layers, making sure to dry well between each step.
I do not want to lie here, so I will tell you it probably took me around two hours. Of course I took my breaks in between because we all know how impatient and easily bored I am. ha ha ha[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”3605″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]When the feathers were the color I wanted, I let them completely air dry. For two reasons 1) I love the air drying process 2) trust me when I say that drying them with the heat tool was a true pain…They were “flying” all over the place!! So as they were drying i took my time to lightly alter the tin.
I covered it with gesso and then I used what was left on my craft sheet to add a bit of color.
I didn’t want to do much to this mini tin, I liked all the white in contrast with the heavily colored peacock.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”3603″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Final step was obviously to glue everything together. Once I was happy with it, I added couple of more color to add a bit of depth to the whole design.
I glued the peacock to the tin and then added the metal wire around it. I did again my own sentiment with an aluminium band, I glued a piece of fiber behind it and added to my composition.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_pageable][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][eltdf_content_title content_title=”project details”][vc_empty_space][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”3601,3602,3603,3604,3605,3606,3607″ img_size=”large”][vc_empty_space][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]
