To make a masculine mixed media tag with layering stencils and paint, start by selecting a color palette that aligns with your desired masculine theme.

For me it was very easy, I grabbed some oranges/red and some greys mixed with some browns.

Apply a base layer of paint onto the tag, allowing sufficient drying time in between. For even more texture , I used a brayer to apply the paint.

Once the base layer dries, use layering stencils to add texture and depth. You can use geometric shapes or patterns of your choice to create an interesting design. Use a contrasting color to add details and highlights to the stenciled shapes. (I used the numbered and the circles stencil for that)

Next, add additional layers of paint or ink to the tag. Use a brush or sponge to blend the colors and create a cohesive look. Continue layering until you are happy with the overall result.

To finish, add any embellishments or add-ons of your choice, such as metal gears, buttons, or die-cuts, that will complement the design and theme. I used Tim Holtz Embellishments from Ideaology that are so perfect and easy to mix and match.

Use a hole punch to create a hole at the top for string or ribbon to use as a tag.

And that’s all for today, If you have any questions, suggestions or if you want to let me know what  you think of this project, leave a message!

Stay happy , stay creative…Till next time!

Ciao Zoey
