It is quiete easy. I have a bin over my desk where I keep all small pieces of paper. From Tissue Wrap paper by Tim Holtz to Collage paper by Tim Holtz to even some random bits from books or packaging. I save them because they are so perfect to start layering a background.
I used gel medium to glue everything together and then I did a light layer of gesso that I watered down. I added some scribbles with a watercolor black pencil and added water to create some interest to the background.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4340″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I stamped Andrea’s stamp over the Plain Tim Holtz Collage Paper that I stained with a bit of distress ink old paper. I cut the stamp and set aside.
Meanwhile I grebbed a bunch of Embossing powders and enamels all in the red hues since that is the theme of this week!

To make the embossing powder adhere to my background all I did was to spray a bit of water. Did you know that trick?I don’t remember who taught it to me, but since then I use this technique for when I am looking for a scattered effect!
I heated everything up by putting the embossing tool UNDER the paper, untill it started melting, then I put it over the paper as par normal. Since i used water, I was afraid that some pieces might fly away, by starting the “melting” process from under, you make sure nothing will fly away!![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”4341″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Last touch was just to add a bit of sewing, this time I did only one side instead of the usual messy frame around the whole project.
