Here we are to a brand new challange over Simon Says Stamp!
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”1962″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I started by “shaping” my rainy boot — and yes I know it looks everything but a rainy boot..just use your imagination haha 😛 !!! I used an empty toilet paper roll and some packaging left over to create the resto of the rainy booth. I covered everything in gesso and then I added strips of Tissue Wrap Postale around the whole thing. I used distress inks to add color and when I was satisfied with the color I used a Dylusions spray to add some blue — and of course it all reacted creating some sort of “water splashes” (yes yes…keep imaginating with me!!)[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”1963″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I shaped some flowers using Tattered Pinecone Die and I also used distress ink to add some color. I let the flower “sit” over a piece of cheese cloth and used the pine cone branch as leaves.
To add another little touch to remember rain, I added a small umbrella and placed it on the top of the flowers.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”1964″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Lastly I added the sentiment, and as always Tim Holtz Small Chat are the perfect add on! I wanted to mix and match these two separate stickers to create a whole message. “Life is Good, Let Life Surprise You”. I find they match this week theme so much.
Because yes, “April Showers” can be annoying. Can be sad. Can put you down. But then, when May shows up…there are so many flowers around that you then will be “blessing” these rainy days…. and so is with life.
You already know how much I have struggled in the past, that long term relationship gone to “hell”, all the days, weeks (and even months!!) spent being sad and crying…but today? Without sounding cheesy, today I am great and I know I wouldn’t have find my self again and being creative again without going through all that “mess”.
So my advice (not that you need any) is.. enjoy rainy day and when everything else fails, go and play in the mud, like we all did when we were kids. Life is awesome, even when sometimes we don’t feel like so.
Enough of me writing, GO AND CREATE!!!![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”1962,1963,1964,1965,1966,1967″ img_size=”large”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

This is amazing Zoey! I love the flowers and the construction of this piece, and of course the colours and textures.
This is such a stunner of a project, Zoey! LOVE your 3D work and your non-3D work…basically all of your work. In this one, I especially love the little pops of color that are blended throughout and I really like what you did with that cheesecloth!
Zoey, your rainy boot is amazing!! The combination of sentiments really is perfect. I loved reading through your post too. It’s so happy knowing that there is always sun and flowers after the rain. Thank you!
Thank you for leaving such kind words on my blog too. I’m sure you’re busy with your DT commitments so it means a lot that you took time to leave a personal comment on my card. Thanks so much!!
